COVID-19 Message

Our COVID-19 Message

The Health Gauge Cardiovascular and Biometric teams are following all guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as state and local public health departments in supporting our customers’ needs. We are actively engaged in monitoring state and federal notices regarding any state of emergency or other dictated actions in response to COVID-19. To help mitigate some of the uncertainty, on March 18, 2020, the EEOC issued updated guidance for employers considering screening and testing protocols for employees.

We understand that this is an evolving situation. We are respectful of the conditions in each local area and evaluate them on a case by case basis. Our top priorities are the health and well-being of our clients, their employees, and families.

Many clients are saying “Now, more than ever” they want their personnel to understand whether or not they have underlying health issues. As such, clients have requested a “full menu” of services compared to what would be considered normal HG screening services. We have already mobilized to execute these client requests.

We understand the concerns and are here to accommodate your specific situation as best we can. While this is a trying time for all, we look forward to the day when we can look you in the eye and shake your hand or touch elbows on a more regular basis. If you have any questions, please contact your account manager, and he or she will make sure you get prompt answers. Thank you again for your business.

Q & A’s

Q) What if I want to reschedule my on-site screening event?
A) Please reach out to your Wellness Coordinator if you have specific questions regarding rescheduling.

Q) What plan of action are you taking to prevent potential transmission during health screening events?
A) Health Gauge has placed rigorous safety procedures in place across our company to protect employees and others from potentially infectious diseases. These measures include ensuring appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is made available to our providers, and additional precautions as deemed necessary, are executed at all Health Gauge on-site employer health screening events.

Internal Health Gauge Protocols during pandemic include:

All HG Staff will pass an internal pre-screening before beginning a screening event:

  • Temperature of less than 100.4 degrees
  • Survey questions consistent with CDC recommendations to determine elevated risk
  • Given that HG sends staff for each event, we can afford to send staff home without affecting the capacity of a screening event should anyone not pass the pre-screening process.

HG will continue to utilize our general best practices including hand sanitization and equipment cleaning procedures. We are also formally reminding our staff of the World Health Organization’s best practices to minimize the spread of infectious disease:

  • Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds
  • Maintain social distancing to the extent possible
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Practice respiratory hygiene – cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
  • Monitor your health – if you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention

Client Protocols:

  • Limiting the number of appointments per day in order to comply with social distancing standards.
  • Adding additional screening dates to accommodate high volume events.
  • Not accepting walk in clients or early arrivals for scheduled appointments.
  • Perform a pre-screening of participants at client onsite screening event before entering the screening venue utilizing the same HG Protocols that HG utilizes on its staff (see above).

Q) Does my Health Gauge program for employers offer COVID-19 testing?
A) No, not at this time. However, we are working diligently to bring this to you as an option, as well as antibody testing

Q) Does Health Gauge check for fever or do antibody testing?
A) As employees return to work, perhaps as early as May, employers can offer antibody testing (the test can quickly tell you whether you have antibodies to the virus). Rapid diagnosis and containment will be a critical part of limiting the spread of COVID-19. More information will be provided as Health Gauge is being considered as one of the preferred screening partners for the TestIowa Initiative.

Health Gauge is currently implementing a plan to provide temperature testing, symptom questionnaires and antibody testing. With our national network of health care professionals, we are well equipped to roll out testing across the nation to our clients. Whether your company is currently open, or you are in the planning stages to re-open, we can provide on-site healthcare professionals to screen employees for potential COVID-19 related symptoms, and to help ensure a safe workplace.

Due to global supply constraints, test availability is limited. We’re working diligently with our partners to scale quickly to meet our client’s testing needs. If you are interested in COVID-19 testing for your employees, please contact your account manager at Health Gauge, and we will notify you as soon as more information becomes available. Thank you for your interest in working with us.
